here for you

No matter where you are in the world, you can now practice in community with us on a daily basis.

Integrating Practice into Your Daily Life

As we all begin to find a new rhythm in an ever-changing world, OYA Retreats is here to meet the needs of our community members who are based across three continents.

We are thrilled to have begun offering in-person experiences again. Yet, we also recognise that home practice is essential for our mental-emotional, physical, and spiritual wellbeing.

Our member areas are here to support you in building a daily home practice in mindfulness, movement and breath.

OYA teachers will update content on a monthly basis across those three pillars in the form of pre-recorded audio only as well as video guided practice. You can access the practices in your own time and at your own pace.

Mindfulness

Simply defined, mindfulness is the moment-to-moment awareness of one’s experience without judgment.

Mindfulness is not limited to sitting in stillness. We can integrate mindfulness into each aspect of our day.

Research shows that mindfulness benefits mental and physical wellbeing when practiced consistently and regularly.

This member area offers audio guided practice to help you build your inner awareness.

Pranayama

Prāṇā can be translated as breath, respiration, life, vitality or energy. Āyama is often translated as stretch, extension, expansion, etc.

There are comparable teachings across wisdom traditions from India and China to Indigenous peoples of the Americas that focus entirely on breathing. How we breathe affects our physical and mental health.

In these video tutorials, you will learn techniques to first tune into and then control the breath to support your awareness and calmness in any life circumstance.

Movement

In the West, yogāsana, or āsana (posture), is many people’s introduction to yoga practice. It includes breath, meditation and posture practices with roots in India.

Somatics is a form of bodywork that helps you attune to the inner experience through movement. Studies have shown that such practices can benefit physical flexibility, strength and balance. Further, it can reduce stress and chronic illness or conditions related to stress.

In this member area, people of all practitioner levels are invited to renew their relationship with their physical bodies with the help of pre-recorded video instruction.
